Funeral Carriage

We offer a unique horse drawn carriage service with our Village Pony hearse specially tailored for traditional country funerals.

Our Village Pony hearse was specially built for us by the Bellcrown Carriage Company to accommodate conventional and environmentally friendly funerals offering an enchanting traditional alternative.

With an adjustable back, the carriage can accommodate smaller coffins with the white ponies adding a sense of humilty to any funeral. Each funeral is different, so we tailor our package to suit your individual and Funeral Directors requirements.

The thrills of a horsedrawn wedding… One of our recent town weddings saw everything being thrown at the ponies to distract them, roadworks with hissing and clanking tarmacadam lorries, congested traffic, wailing police sirens and a scene out of the ‘Keystone Cops’ with the police running on hot pursuit after a couple of robbers fleeing a crime scene! … The poor bride exclaimed, “whatever next, highjacking by a highwayman!!!”.. and as for the ponies…they never batted an eyelid, just carried on as if nothing had happened!!

Royal Wedding Carriage…. well almost, we did a wedding in Llandovery the day after the Royal Wedding while the town was still festooned with decorations, The shoppers and inhabitants of Llandovery were able to enjoy their own bit of glamour with a radiant Bride and Groom carriage procession!

Our gelding, Bobby, is being prepared for the 2010 carriage driving showing season, look out for him at the local shows!

Funeral News – Our carriage is being updated with steamed English Willow basketwork to the decking sides, further enhancing its appearance as a traditional country vehicle.

To add authenticity to your special occasion, Buttons our working Dalmatian carriage dog will be now be available to accompany the carriage if required, please ask for details.
